That someone was amazed.
I dont know why I buy, but honestly, I find that McD regular meals are not that delicious (well, except those fries) anymore. I would rather eat its Breakfast Meal.
Anyways, there is a story behind the Happy Meal.
Mak used to buy us Mc Donalds' Happy Meals back then. She brought it back home almost every Saturday, after half day at work in a bank. She'll usually ask the office boy to buy the Happy Meals for us.
We waited eagerly. . It was a surprise, we never knew what was in it.
Three separate meals were the source of joy on our Saturday, other than seeing Mak coming back from work, to spend time with us...
After that, we put the free toys inside a huge rattan box, and store it in my room. Late in the evening, Nana and Isya came to play with the toys and other toys, too.
After I entered primary school, Mak stopped working, and so the normal routine was not a routine anymore.
One day, Mak decided to give away that the rattan box, along with the Happy Meal toys, Polly Pockets collections to the little nephews and nieces. Mak always believes that, its better to give away to others, just to make people happy, and not to put things to waste. And oh boy, the kids were happy.
So, that was my Happy Meal story.
Now, everytime I drive pass McD Jalan Maarof Bangsar, I remember the Happy Meal routine. I remember my excitement of waiting Mak to come back home, with 3 Red boxes, with toys and food in it. :)
As time passes by, we enter the adulthood, the joy of buying and getting a Happy Meal is totally different. We will only buy the Happy Meal only if we know what the toys are. So, there isnt any element of surprise at all. Booooo to that. Hahahahah.
